”Kato-san put a lot of thought into it so the listener doesn’t have to. The Soulnote A-1 is a real sound machine with which you can experience music in wonderful liveliness and emotionality. The open, carefree nature of the integrated amplifier makes it immediately likeable and allows the user to overlook the small idiosyncrasies of the device. He always gives recordings a considerable size, gives the individual elements room to develop and thus creates a game with a lot of depth that lets you fully immerse yourself in the music. Despite its tonal qualities and the philosophical approach to its technology, it is completely unpretentious and as honest as its sound. This Soulnote is actually a real little soul.”

Test av P-3 i Positive Feedback

”THE LONGER I LISTENED TO THE SOULNOTE PREAMPLIFIER, the more sure I was that the P-3 SE sounded like a pure tube preamp. It had all the features of a smooth, fluid, color-rich tube. Its space was excellent, but it did not lead the sound far into the stage, but rather widened and stretched it around me. The dynamics was fantastic and gave the taste of being close to live instruments.”

Test av Soulnote A-2 i Twittering Machines

”To my way of experiencing, the A-2 is for people who dig deep—deep into the music they love, the story behind the products they choose to live with, and even how these things look and feel. If you are that kind of listener, the Soulnote A-2 has many riches to offer including a purity of sound that makes listening to music addictive, magical, and full of wonder.”

Test av A-2 i High Fidelity Polen

”Ultimately, it is a beautiful, ”golden” sound that never tires, on the contrary – encourages you to buy more albums. The more that the device is resolving and differentiating, which will allow us to enjoy best releases and good realizations too. For all this – the RED Fingerprint – our first in 2020!”

Test av A-2 I What Hi-Fi

”— but as the old saying goes, the proof is in the pudding, and in this case the pudding is the SoulNote A-2 and the proof is that it is very powerful, very quiet and — most important of all — sounds absolutely gorgeous.”

Test av S-3 i High Fidelity Polen

”I would treat the SoulNote player as an analog turntable. It doesn’t pretend to read exactly all the information that is only available on the analog master tape, but rather creates his own world. It shows the beauty of recordings, their smoothness, internal differentiation, great bass sounds. It is more about naturalness than neutrality. Once heard, it will leave a mark in our minds that will be a bump for other digital sources, which will shake their perception more than once or twice. Therefore, let me award it with our RED Fingerprint. ”

Soulnote A-2 i hifi+

”Once run in, the A-2 sounds almost velvety – delivering a flowing beguiling-mellifluousness allied to impressive clarity and definition. It sounds fast, smooth, sweet, and open, and has the ability to highlight subtle differences in tonal balance while revealing delicate micro-dynamics. Yet there is no lack of attack and immediacy when this is called for – a real iron fist in a velvet glove. It’s also capable of sounding very different from track to track. The A-2 often surprised me. I liked it the more I listened to it.”
